Financial Planner 

We are now looking for a  Financial Planner to join our Kildare team. If you are a professional Financial Advisor who is looking to move your career to the next level with a progressive financial brokerage, then you will benefit from the opportunities and growth potential offered by our firm.

The Role:

  • Be able to demonstrate a proven track record in management & development of client relationships.
  • Carry out regular reviews with existing clients in order to identify and meet financial needs.
  • Establish strong relationships with existing clients and develop business relationships with new clients. 
  • Provide best advice to clients relating to their Life protection, Pension Savings and Investment needs.
  • Make recommendations to clients whilst ensuring adherence to compliance regulations and standards.
  • Provide ongoing service and advice to clients through regular reviews.
  • Work to agreed targets and standards.
  • Be an integral part of the team in working towards and achieving company objectives.
  • Have a comprehensive knowledge and interest in personal finance including Directors Pensions, Life Assurance & Investments. Mortgage knowledge may be beneficial but not necessary.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • QFA qualified or a commitment to achieving the required professional qualification.
  • A commitment to Continuous Professional Development.
  • Motivated, self-starter with ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team. 
  • Proven track record of consistently meeting and exceeding targets i.e. compliance, industry standards , customer service and business development.
  • Ability to generate own leads as well as work with an existing client base.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage a portfolio of diverse clients.
  • Hard working, goal oriented, with excellent communication skills and confidence in Life, Pensions, Savings & Investments products.
  • A strong level of IT skills will be important in the role.

Financial Planning Administrator

We are actively looking for a Financial Planning Administrator to join our team to provide administration support to our Company Director.  The successful candidate should be self-motivated, professional and personable. 

The Role:

  • Providing a wide range of support to our Director(s) in supporting the financial advice function from inception to conclusion. 
  • Requirement to liaise with clients, providers, and key stakeholders to manage the workflow efficiently. 
  • Recording client information in an accurate and compliant manner 
  • Processing of new business applications, updating client information, scanning of documents, providing supporting documents to providers as appropriate.
  • Track progress of business with product providers and ensuring accuracy of outcomes.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, appropriate responses and updates to all correspondence, calls and enquiries.
  • Provide exceptional levels of customer experience to our clients 

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in financial services or a related customer sales/service role. 
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi task, manage and prioritise the workload to acceptable deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently & professionally with all stakeholders.

Financial Planning Apprentice 

We are looking for an ambitious and talented individual who shows the potential to develop into a high performing business professional. This opportunity is a three year fixed term contract apprentice scheme that provides exposure to all aspects of our business, allowing you to develop your technical expertise as well as professional skills. We are seeking an Apprentice for our Kildare office. 

While on the programme, in addition to gaining on the job insurance experience, you will complete the insurance industry professional qualifications QFA as well as a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Insurance Practice (Apprenticeship) which is Level 8 on the NFQ awarded by IT Sligo.

When you join Murray & Spelman (Financial Services) Ltd., you will receive a tailored induction and will be assigned a business supervisor and mentor to provide support throughout the scheme.

We will work with you to enable you to reach your development goals and aspirations for your career at Murray & Spelman (Financial Services) Ltd. In return, we expect you to bring the commitment and drive to add significant value to the company.

As an apprentice you will gain in-depth knowledge of risks and the insurance market in order to arrange suitable policies & cover for your clients. You will learn how to be an effective intermediary between our clients and insurance companies.

Responsibilities of Financial Brokers;

  • gather information from your clients, assessing their insurance needs and risk profile;
  • research insurance companies’ policies and negotiate with underwriters to find the most suitable insurance for your clients at the most competitive price;
  • ensure that your clients understand the terms and the extent of the cover provided in line with industry regulations;
  • foresee your clients’ insurance needs, such as policy renewals or amendments;
  • advise your clients on whether and when they need to make a claim on their policies
  • arrange specialised types of insurance cover in complex cases; this may involve preparing reports for insurance underwriters and surveyors and negotiating with insurers;
  • build and maintain ongoing relationships with your clients;
  • keep detailed records and complete administrative tasks such as paperwork and correspondence;
  • develop relationships with underwriters, surveyors, structural engineers and other professionals;
  • keep up with changes in the insurance market and in your clients’ industries;

Minimum Entry Level Requirements:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Mature students – if over 23 years there are no minimum educational requirements – documented interview required
  • FETAC Level 5 qualification holder
  • Between 18 and under 23 years – Leaving certificate, minimum of 140 points to include two honours in higher level paper and passes in Maths and English/Irish with specific requirements on grades/levels
